Ghanaian entertainment/music industry is absolutely amazing when it comes to giving striking content to the audience. The industry not only entertains the public through films and music but also takes it by surprise through celebrity beefs. (Wendy Shay and Fantana )
From Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy’s mega dramatic feud which even went all the way to Vodafone Ghana Music Awards 2019’s stage to Afia Schwar and Mzbel’s beef which takes major dramatic turn every other day and Shatta Wale and Michy’s post-breakup feud, the industry is full of entertaining content. However, for now the beef between Ghanaian sensational songstresses, Wendy Shay and Fantana has been getting the massive hype. It all started when one of the top music sensations, Ebony Reigns of the RuffTown Records died and Wendy Shay came in the industry and perfectly took her place. Wendy Shay was enjoying her reign for being the best RuffTown Records girl when new sensation, Fantana came and thus the competition started.
According to a recent blog from Ghana News Online, unlike other celebrity beefs Wendy Shay and Fantana’s beef was more fueled by people than themselves. Both of the songstresses have always tried to hide their grudges against each other but people and media adds exaggerations to make it appealing. Likewise, once Fantana talked about how she doesn’t know how to cook in an interview to which later on Wendy Shay said that she has become a teacher as she is teaching her how to cook in a fun interview with Sammy Flex. She said, “I am currently teaching Fantana how to cook and I must say she is picking up. Currently, the dishes we have tried our hands on are Indomie, fried yam, and rice and stew.”
Media found it hard to digest which eventually lead to the point that Fantana showed a very surprising response to Wendy’s claims about becoming her teacher and trying new dishes together. Fantana told the blogger, Zion Felix that Wendy is not teaching her anything, she was simply bluffing. She also said that she is learning how to cook by herself by watching various cooking tutorials on YouTube. She said, “I can only treat Wendy Shay as a business associate because we are not friends, but even if that is the case, business associates exchange pleasantries when they meet.” Her interview went viral in no time because that’s exactly what media and people wanted.
For now, both of the sensations attended the exclusive premiere of Becca’s single titled ‘Yes I Do’ featuring Nigerian artist, Tiwa Savage in which they totally ignored each other. It happened when Fantana and Tiwa Savage were chilling on stage and Wendy approached them to which Fantana started using her phone and Wendy only hugged Tiwa but not Fantana. So, it’s quite clear from Wendy and Fantana’s behavior that they are competitors from inside and media is paying its best part to show them as rivals for existing content.
