At least 9 family members of a fundamentalist Mormon family in Mexico including 3 women and 6 children, having dual US-Mexican citizenship, have reportedly murdered by drug cartel gunmen.
The recent incident also indicates that organized-crime groups’ influence and power have increased. It has stunned the whole nation who still recovering from Sinaloa Cartel gunmen attacks in Culiacan city. President Donald Trump expressed his sorrows and called the victims a wonderful family and friends. He said that they caught between two drug cartels and killed. Mr. Trump also offered that he can help and urged Mexico to hit back at the cartels as sometimes an army required to defeat the other militia.
Mexican president Andrés Manuel López Obrador expressed his gratitude over US President’s offer. However, he said that they will see and act on the matter independently and sovereign. Deceased’s family has shared the video of a charred vehicle that was carrying the victims. A woman and her children burnt alive by the attackers that posed a serious threat to the local community.
The security minister reported that victims become the prey of attackers accidentally. Mormon family women were traveling with their children in a convoy from Bavispe (Sonora State) to La Mora (Chihuahua State). The attackers considered them as their rival and attack the first car kills the passengers and later they set the vehicle on fire.
