Indiana State Police has found the dead body of woman, Laura Hurst, whose neck was wrapped by an 8ft reticulated python. According to initial investigations, the 36-year-old found unresponsive and police reached the property in Oxford to investigate.
They found 140 snakes in the house which may be used to keep the animals. Ms. Hurst visited the property weekly to see her 20 snakes. Benton County Sheriff Don Munson is reportedly the owner of the house. He said that he discovered Ms. Hurst on the floor and also called her death a tragic incident. The sheriff also assured that he will fully cooperate with the police.
A police Sgt Kim Riley of Indiana State Police told that the person, who found her, has removed the python from her neck but emergency services failed to revive her. Sgt Riley reported that an autopsy will also perform. Riley said that apparently, she strangled by the snake but the authorities have to wait for the autopsy report to confirm it.
The reticulated python is the longest snake in the world with a maximum length of 10m. This type of snakes usually found in forest and rarely seen.
