On Thursday, November 14 2019, South Africa is scheduled to play against the Ghana Black Stars at the Accra Sports Stadium. After that, three days later, they will lock heads with Sudan on Sunday, 17 November at Orlando Stadium. This was all scheduled when CAF changed the original dates for the qualifying matches of Cameroon Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2021.
Initially, South Africa was supposed to play on November 15 coach Kwesi Appiah’s side and combat with Sudan on 19 November. This was all set before the continental controlling body made its interference and changed all the dates.
On Sunday, November 17, the Bafana is supposed to host Sudan at Orlando Stadium.
South Africa was placed in Group C together with Sudan, Ghana and Sao Tome Principe.
Just two teams from this group are to qualify for 2021 AFCON in Cameroon.
Sao Tome was able to win historically over Mauritius. They won with 3-1 in the first leg of the preliminary stage, afterwards following it with a 2-1 victory in the second leg. In this way, they completed a memorable 5-2 overall total win.
