Vice President of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has requested the member countries of the Abidjan-Lagos Highway Project to develop a strong communication strategy to draw the attention of promoters and investors. He emphasized on the need for a healthy strategy to market the project on the domestic regional and international level.

Meanwhile, Dr. Bawumia requested the ECOWAS members to solve the resettlement problems in an appropriate manner. It can be done by paying satisfactory compensation to those who will affect the project as per the laws of their relevant countries. Veep made this known while speaking with the 13th Ministerial Steering Committee Meeting in the capital of Ghana.
He said that the government has ensured the presence of locals in infrastructural development and therefore providing enormous job chances for domestic industries. Member states should keenly observe the legal and regional considerations and management issues of the project to make it fruitful. Dr. Bawumia also urged on the need for creating the Abidjan-Lagos Corridor Management Authority office urgently. Furthermore, he wanted to ensure the effective management of land acquisition and ownership matters.
