A deadly mosque blast in Afghanistan during Friday prayers has left at least 62 worshippers dead and dozens more wounded. The intensity of the blast even destroyed the roofs of the building, a witness told.
No group has accepted the responsibility of the mosque blast yet. The explosion occurred just a day after the UN reported the record number of civilian deaths in summer. It said that 1,174 civilians murdered in July and September deadliest quarter. A spokesperson confirmed that 62 people deceased and 36 injured were all worshippers.
The mosques located in Haska Mina District at about 30 miles from Jalalabad. The mosque roof caved in after explosion while some sources claimed that many explosives used in the terrorist activity.
Tezab Khan, a police officer revealed that he heard the Mullah preaching sound but his voice suddenly drops with a bang. He further added that when he approached there then he saw many people bringing the bodies out from the fallen roof.
Authorities have fears that casualties can increase as rescue teams are still working to bring out the dead bodies. Taliban had rejected the accusations of any involvement.
