A passenger bus, having 39 Arabs and Asians pilgrims for Umra on board, collided into a truck as a result 35 pilgrims reportedly died in a Saudi bus crash. The crash occurred at about 16:00 GMT close to the sacred city of Medina in Saudi Arabia.
The foreigners including Arabs and Asians pilgrims were going to perform Umra at the time of the accident. Four pilgrims also injured in the Saudi bus crash and shifted to al-Hamna Hospital in Medina for medical treatment. The identities of the victims still not revealed. However, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the news has distressed him. Medina governor, Prince Faisal bin Salman Al Saud has expressed deep sympathies to the victims’ families over precious loss of lives.
The investigations over the incident have launched. Local media has published the images of the accident showing a double-decker bus burning with shattered windows. 1n 2018, 4 British pilgrims died and 12 others wounded in the bus-tanker collision. A minibus also crashed in 2017 on the way from Mecca to Medina leaving 6 Britons dead.
