Shafiu Mumuni, the Black Stars B skipper of Ghana succeeded to be awarded the top scorer at the freshly finished West Africa Football Union (WAFU) Cup that was held in Senegal.
Shafiu Mumuni was able to score a goal four times in the tournament and this resulted in winning the top scorer award in this year’s tournament.
In the WAFU competition, Mumuni netted his first goal in the match of Ghana with Burkina Faso in the quarter final match. This game ended with a score of 1-1 before Ghana won by penalty strikes.
In the semi-final match, he netted three goals to make a hat-trick as Ghana defeated Cote d’Ivoire 3-1. This made the team qualify for the final three times in a row after winning it in 2017.
He was not able to goal a single shot in the final match. But still, the Ashantigold striker made four goals in the contest and this all earned him the prestigious prize.
