Typhoon Hagibis is nearing the shores of Japan and this has caused a huge disruption in the ongoing Rugby World Cup. The matches scheduled to be held on Saturday have been cancelled. New Zealand-Italy and France-England games have been called off in the wake of the Typhoon.
The games which have been called off won’t be rescheduled and two points shall be awarded to each side.
Rugby World Cup matches called off amidst anticipated Typhoon Hagibis
England was due to take on France in Tokyo whereas Newzealand and Italy were to fight for laurels in Toyota.
The cancellation of the match has seriously affected the aims and aspirations of Italy. Italy had to defeat Newzealand by a huge margin if they were to reach the quaterfinals. Now they are out of the event.
Only a few would have realistically beleived in Italy’s victory over the mighty All-blacks, but still the game was on and Italy could have tried to fight their heart out. But such a demise will definitely not go well and shall be considered as a bolt from the blue.
