There are a lot of stereotypes in Ghana especially regarding women that need to be addressed critically however; people have no time for this. On the other hand, we are very grateful to a few influential female celebrities who still try their best to tend to such issues.
Likewise, Ghanaian sensational songstress, Becca has recently broken the stereotype of quitting music after giving birth to a child. No matter how many people come out on roads to chant about feminism, there are still some of the issues that are not going to get solved just like that. ‘Women have to stay home and take care of their children’ is definitely one of them and it’s a global one. The same is the case with celebrities that right after marriage or motherhood, they quit their jobs and passion for their family. However, it’s not the case with Becca as she has clearly defined her priorities by saying that music is her passion and she will never quit her passion.
Becca gave birth to a beautiful baby girl earlier this year with her husband Tobi. Ever since she has given to a baby girl, the rumors regarding her leaving the music scene are circulating. No doubt, the songstress has dropped just a couple songs after the birth of her daughter but that doesn’t mean that she has quit music. Likewise, the songstress has finally responded to the much-hyped rumors by saying that she will never quit music as she has been managing both her family and passion just fine. She also said her marriage hasn’t made it difficult for her to continue doing music instead it has made it easy.
According to the Multi TV Ghana reports, the songstress said in an interview, “Most successful singers after marriage and childbirth relax but not me. I don’t intend to quit music soon for any reason; music is a passion and business. So why would I want to end my passion and business because of marriage? Marriage should not end your careers but give you an even deeper reason to strive harder and accomplish the most difficult. I am more determined and motivated than any other time in my life.”
While talking about her husband and his contribution in her life, she said, “I am married to my best friend and he understands and supports my passion and business. And I am also blessed to be surrounded by great domestic staff.” No doubt, people also spread false rumors regarding how Becca and Tobi will never last long but they are going strong. So, people also play a very important role in fueling and practicing the above-mentioned stereotypes.
