Mr Fred Ohene-Kena, the former Minister of Mines & Energy dies at the age of 83 on the 4th of October, 2019. He served under the presidency of Jerry John Rawlings. The reliable sources confirmed that he died due to serious illness.
From 1997 until 1999, Mr Fred Ohene-Kena served as Minister for Mines & Energy. Former president, Jerry John Rawlings dismissed him for unknown reasons.
“He later served in government including positions on the Economic Advisory Council (EAC) and the Judicial Council of Ghana under the Atta Mills administration. He also served as the Chairman of the Minerals Commission of Ghana and in 2010, he was appointed to the AngloGold Ashanti Board of Directors as a Non-Executive member.”
