President Donald Trump has called Nigeria one of strongest trade partner of the United States in Africa on the occasion of Nigeria’s 59th independence anniversary.
In a message released by the US State Department, Mr. Trump stated that all of us standing side by side in the global battle against terrorism. Like our allies, we also want to dismantle the insurgences of Boko Haram and ISIS-West Africa.
US president further referenced the US Vice President Mike Pence and Nigeria’s Vice President Yemi Osinbajo’s longstanding cooperation. The vice presidents of both countries earlier meet to discuss trade reforms and counter-terrorism processes.
Nigerian president, Muhammadu Buhari, used the occasion of independence anniversary to request Nigerians to abide by the laws. He urged his nation to change their lawless habits and attitude to public office as well as become law-abiding citizens. He repeated government promises for expanding the economy and securing the population from every threat. Buhari warned Nigerians to avoid spreading hate speech and troublesome propaganda.
