MainOne is all set to extend its imprints to Ghana as a part of its current West African expansion plans. The company has chosen the Appolonia City, located in Greater Accra, as a site for its new data centre.
MDXi is MainOne’s subordinate company providing biggest commercial data centre services in the region. The main intention of MDXi is to further expand its already developed set-up in Ghana. Appolonia City lies 20 kilometers from the central Accra and will further start providing services in 4th quarter of 2020. The facility will accommodate multinationals companies and local enterprises exploring mutual services for the development of their ICT resources.
The latest Tier III facility, to be built on 4,047 sqm in Appolonia City, will be designed as per international standards. Moreover, it will provide quality services to suffice the business necessities of collocated customers. Regional Executive of MainOne, Kazeem Oladepo expressed excitement for investing in new data centre facility to back digitization journey.
MDXi Director-General, Mr. Gbenga Adegbiji revealed that the expansion will strengthen the local economy by rendering employment opportunities. According to Appolonia City Chairman, Bright Owusu-Amofah Ghana’s partnership with MainOne has made Appolonia Industrial Park, particularly engineered for light-industrial practices, a business hub. Famous Ghanaian telecom networks will also freely access connectivity services.
