President of the Ghana Employers’ Association (GEA), Dan Acheampong has recently called upon all the organizations to give the women opportunities to assume higher positions. According to the GEA President, the women form more than 51% of the total population of Ghana yet we hardly see any woman having higher positions.
The organizations should take part in empowering the women sector by providing them with the necessary skills’ education and practical opportunities, where they can implement those learned skills. Women should assume positions in all the higher sectors especially leadership, management, and boardroom.
He said, “It is important to note that in all facets of Ghana, women are underrepresented at the decision-making and leadership levels. For instance, women form more than half of Ghana’s population, but they are underrepresented in management, leadership and boardroom positions.”
Dan Acheampong has also launched an exclusive leadership development program for women titled ‘Female Future Programme (FFP)’.
