The Huawei Mate 30 Pro is showing off 7,680fps slow-motion video capture. This is way too much for any other smartphones to do. This equals to 8x the frame rate of a 960fps video. Exec of Huawei, Bruce Lee leaked a detail video of how his team was able to achieve this great thing.
The phone first captures and records only 0.12 seconds of the whole footage, and afterwards, it expand that to 32 seconds video of 30fps slow-motion. This is equal to capturing 945 frames at 720p resolution. The whole chipset needed is ISP, CPU, GPU and NPU rush in order to process the data.
While the human reflexes are not fast enough to know and choose the best time to begin to record. Rather than this, the NPU examines 1 second of video by using an AI algorithm fitted inside it. This is done in order to choose the time as to start the 0.12 second clip. This entire process just needs 2GB of RAM.
