Nearly 20% increase is noticed in global oil prices after twin Saudi oil attacks affected the above 5% of the world’s oil supply. The US accused Tehran of involving in twin attacks on Saudi Arabian oil facilities through drone strikes while Iran describes these accusations as US deceit.
Now, the United States has released satellite imagery and referenced intelligence as evidence of Iranian involvement. A US official has said that the direction and extent of the drone strike suspected the Houthi involvement. Another official analyzed that 19 targets were sent from WNW direction while Houthi-controlled territory lies in SW of targeted oil facilities. Northern Gulf, Iran and Iraq located in WNW direction but Iraq rejected the claims that it launched the drone strikes.
Earlier, Mike Pompeo also insisted that Iran carried out the drone strikes but didn’t provide any evidence of his claims. His remarks enraged Tehran who accused the US of deceit. Iraqi PM Adel Abdul Mahdi has revealed that Mr. Pompeo has guaranteed him that Washington will defend Iraq’s position.
Shortly, President Donald Trump placed the accusations against Iran on a side and warned for military action against the culprit. Later, US President said that he has all the information about culprit but he will wait for Saudis decision to proceed.
The oil price has suddenly mounted to 20% which counted a sharp one-day increase since the Gulf War in 1991. However, it dropped later after President Trump allows to release the United States reserves.
