President Donald Trump has annulled the peace talks with the Afghani Taliban which intended to end the long-lasted war in Afghanistan. Earlier, US president was scheduled to meet with President Ashraf Ghani and his administration to discuss the issue.
However, he called off the meeting after the militants’ acceptance of conducting a recent attack in which a US soldier killed. Taliban has warned that the US will ‘lose the most’ for abandoning the meeting. The US-Taliban talks are going to occur a few days earlier the 9/11 anniversary.
In 2001, the US forces entered into Afghanistan and ended the Taliban government there. The US believed that militants found Afghanistan a safe place to plan 11 September assaults in the United States.
An official statement from the Afghan presidential office said that real peaceful environment requires the Taliban cooperation. If they will agree to a ceasefire and to conduct talks with the Afghan government then it can easily achieve.
