The protesters demonstrated near the US consulate in Hong Kong and requested President Donald Trump to help them to save their country. Pro-democracy activists were also holding the banners stating ‘President Trump, please save Hong Kong’.
The Hong Kong protest now enters into 14th consecutive week. It still continued though the government has accepted the key demands of the protesters. Meanwhile, China has asked the other countries to not interfere in their matter. China has also called it its own internal affair. The protester also waved US flags and appeals the US to liberate their country from China.
They requested the US to agree with an anticipated ‘Human Rights and Democracy Act’ of their country. The law will expose those Chinese officials to US sanctions, liable for destroying Hong Kong’s freedoms. Demonstrators also chanted the national anthem of the United States.
The protests started over a controversial extradition law which pressurized the government to accept their demands. However, the protests continue and call for wider set of reforms added into the demands.
