Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro has signed on the verdict of banning the land clearance fires for two months amid the intensity of Amazon rainforest fires. Mr. Jair Bolsonaro has remained under intense criticism globally for failing to control rainforest fires.
Meanwhile, a Brazilian environmentalist has predicted for coming worst spell of the fire. South American nations agreed to congregate next week to discuss the rainforest fires crisis. However, the outcomes of such a ban are still not clear as forest clearance is already prohibited in Brazil.
At present, more than 80,000 blazes have hit the Amazon region, 77% more than the preceding year. Amazon regions serve as a place to store the carbon which further reduces global warming. Earlier, investigations were ongoing about the allegations that illegal clearance has caused the fires. The new verdict banned the setting of fires for land clearance.
