China has warned Washington to be ready for sanctions if it was found involved in the arms sales including plane deal of F-16 fighter aircraft to Taiwan. Beijing has urged the US to stay away from moving ahead to the F-16 fighter planes sales and also end its military relations with Taiwan.
The United States has made the approval of biggest arms deal, of 66 aircraft worth of $8bn, with Taiwan in decades. Washington follows the prolonged Washington-Beijing trade war which has also influenced on the world economy. China sees Taiwan as its own territory which needs reunifying with the mainland. Thus, it always criticized US arms sale deal with Taiwan. Beijing also accused the US of making a deal of $2.2bn for tanks and Stinger missiles with Taiwan.
The Defense Security Cooperation Agency of the United States presented the deal before Congress. The deal stated about the sale of 75 General Electric engines, 66 F-16 fighter plane, and other weapons. The sale will help to increase Taiwan’s security. Meanwhile, Chinese state media has called the sale violation of international laws which bound Washington to recognize One China policy. China has warned to impose sanctions on the companies which will found involved in the arms deal.
