Three Ghanaian cocoa farmers had qualified for the finals of International Cocoa Awards after their products selected in topmost 50 cocoa beans out of total 223 samples. Two of the cocoa farmers Augustine Blay and Joseph Jongmaatey belong to Elubo, Western Region. Another farmer, Samuel Tetteh selected from Abuakwa, Eastern Region.
Besides Ghana, farmers of Madagascar, Trinidad and Tobago, Ecuador and Cote d’Ivoire also make their place in the ICA final. An official statement said that they felt pleased to inform that the technical committee has successfully evaluated the accepted samples. The committee selected the best 50 samples out of 223.
Participants from 55 countries submitted their samples for the competition. Right now, the samples processed into liquor but it will further process into chocolate next month for the selection of 2019 ICA award. ICA 2019 scheduled to be celebrated in the French capital from 30 October to 3rd November. Ghana’s ICA 2017 winner also received the honor in his country over historic feat.
