Minister of Information Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has described the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) as the only party that has launched stronger strategies to improve the education sector.
At the 27th Annual Residential and Delegate Summit of the Ghana National Union of Technical Students in Kumasi, the Minister who is also the MP for Ofoase-Ayirebi in the Eastern Region addressed.
Unlike President Mahama who always supports programs that promote young individuals, Mr. Oppong Nkrumah said that the dedication of President Akufo-Addo to Ghanaian youth continues unaffected.
He added that it was the government’s faith that Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) was a significant growth element, hence the need to increase technical and vocational chances at the secondary and tertiary levels, thus enhancing the links between education and business and allowing young people to practice their capabilities.
Oppong Nkrumah also said that under the NPP, the Kufuor administration launched the Capitation subsidies, the college teaching program and the improvement of the high school program from three to four years.
He proceeded, I want them to know they don’t come back to the government, and the policy of Free Senior High School has come to remain, they have not yet awakened from their dreams; they dreamed of being on track for success in 2016.
