Israel has banned the entry of two US Democratic lawmakers, Ilhan Omar, and Rashida Tlaib, into West Bank and East Jerusalem. Both critics have backed the boycott movement against the country but campaign supporter’s entry can be banned as per Israeli law.
Earlier President Donald Trump also encouraged the Israeli government to not allow pair to enter Israel. He said that it would be Israel weakness if it will not stop Ilhan Omar and Rep.Tlaib from visiting. The pair keeps hatred feelings for the country and Jewish. Mr. Trump further called them a disgrace.
Both US Democratic lawmakers didn’t respond yet on the latest move. Israel law prohibited the entry of any foreigner who found involved in any activity or campaign which aims to hit Israel. This law allows Israel to suppress any campaign, movement or boycott backed by the US and Europe.
US media sources revealed that US lawmakers planned to visit the most sensitive sites including Haram al-Sharif or Temple Mount in Israel during their visit which was starting from Sunday. Their meeting was due with Israeli and Palestinian peace activists. The pair has further intentions to visit Jerusalem and Bethlehem, Ramallah and Hebron cities in the West Bank.
