Tehran has said that it reserves the right to take action if it found out Israel’s involvement in US naval mission in Strait of Hormuz. It warned that Israel should stay away from interfering in the Gulf issue to support the US. Otherwise, Iran can confront these kinds of clear threats.
Abbas Mousavi reaction came after Israeli media cited Israel’s Minister of Foreign Affairs who claimed in a meeting that US maritime mission in Gulf has full Israeli support. Israeli officials didn’t confirm any involvement in US naval mission. The US has earlier called the naval mission a necessity of time to combat with Iranian monopoly in a strategically important region.
Mousavi clearly defined any help offered by Isreal to the US will consider a threat to our security and sovereignty. As per the defensive policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, we will encounter every danger to protect our country.
Strait of Hormuz has become a center of tension where Washington is establishing a naval coalition. The US also wants its allies to help in the mission but Germany denied to aid in the mission. The US-Iran relations further soared in recent months over oil tankers attack and seizure incidents. The root of the friction is US withdrawal from the nuclear deal which triggered Iran to blast.
