United Nations’ human rights chief has revealed that airstrikes by the government of Syria & its allies in the past ten days have badly damaged building infrastructure and up to 100 civilians reportedly killed during the tenure.
According to Michelle Bachelet, the government didn’t intentionally target the civilians but it happened accidentally. She also condemned and warned that the person behind the attacks will soon be charged with war offenses. Ms. Bachelet further added that attacks against civilians must consider war crimes as per international rules. The people behind conducting or backing those attacks are liable for their actions.
The Syrian government has the support of the Russian air force. It has said that frequent truce violations by jihadists have intensified the attacks in the region. Earlier, Russia has rejected the accusations of attacking a market and residential areas wherein at least 31 civilians lost their lives.
