A statement from Indian foreign ministry has denied that PM Narendra Modi never requested President Donald Trump to play a role of mediator between India and Pakistan over Kashmir conflict.
It also said that India wanted to discuss the issue bilaterally with Pakistan only. Earlier, US President revealed that Indian Prime Minister Modi has asked to mediate. He made this known when he welcomed Pakistani PM Imran Khan at White House and talked to him on Kashmir Issue during his first face-to-face meeting with PM.
The reporters asked PM Imran Khan that either United States can help to sort out the solution of Kashmir conflict. Mr. Imran then replied that the US has the power to bring both countries on one table. Meanwhile, Mr. Trump added that Prime Minister Modi talked to him during his visit to the US that if he has to become a mediator for Kashmir issue and my response was positive.
Pakistan welcomed US President to be a mediator in Kashmir issue but India stressed on the bilateral discussion. An Indian politician has strongly condemned Mr. Trump’s statements and said that he has no idea about what he is discussing about.
