Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, has urged the EU countries to act instantly on the Iranian threat and not wait for the time when Tehran missiles fall on their soil. He also compared the EU approach towards recent Iran breach of the nuclear deal to Nazi Germany’s appeasement in World War II.
Netanyahu statement came after EU described recent Iranian breach of 2015 deal as ‘insignificant’. Iran, on the other hand, breaches the deal in retaliation of reinstated sanctions by the United States but denied of making nuclear weapons. It has warned to continue the breach till EU will make efforts to lessen the worst effects of sanctions which have collapsed its oil exports and economy. Iran has also rejected the EU mechanism for simplifying legitimate trade for not being enough.
A meeting of foreign ministers of EU member states held in Brussels to discuss how to maintain the deal. But Foreign Policy Chief of EU noted that representative didn’t take the Iranian threat issue seriously. They also described all Iranian steps as reversible which enraged Mr. Netanyahu. He said that the EU member’s behavior memorizes me of the European’s 1930s appeasement.
Israeli prime minister urged all to make efforts to prevent Iran from preparing nuclear weapons. United States ambassador to EU also stressed to act against Iran for nuclear breach and other malign activities.
