United Kingdom has planned to deploy a second warship in the Gulf waters after the threat level to UK ships has escalated. Earlier, Iranian forces efforts to impede the British oil tanker went in vain on Wednesday.
Right Now, the second warship ‘HMS Duncan’ is present in the Mediterranean Sea and will reportedly reach in the Gulf region next week to join HMS Montrose. On the other hand, Iran has again requested the UK to release oil tanker which Royal Marines has seized in Gibraltar earlier. An Iranian official has threatened the United Kingdom to stay away from this dangerous game.
The Gulf oil tanker incident has soured the relations between the UK and Iran. The UK has raised concerns about British ships in Iranian waters and following day IRGC tried to halt their oil tanker. However, Iran dismissed the claims that its boat had tried to halt the tanker.
A UK government spokesperson reported that the deployment of HMS Duncan means to make sure the maritime security. The UK move will also ensure freedom of navigation for ships pass through this shipping lane.
