Ghana’s President Nana Akufo-Addo has offered $10 million to contribute in the start-up of the Secretariat of African Continental Free Trade Area. EU government and Heads of States have preferred Ghana over Egypt, Ethiopia, Eswatini, Kenya, Madagascar and Senegal as host for the secretariat.

President Nana Addo made this known during his acceptance speech in Niamey summit. He also showed pleasure that Ghana has got the privilege of hosting a key pan-African institution for the first time. Ghanaian President vowed to make it a world-class organization by providing all the mandatory facilities.
He also requested pan-African institutions to deliver their services and support for the establishment of the Secretariat. The combined effort will make it a world-class institution and a source of pride and happiness for all Africans. We want to have the largest trading bloc on the globe which will be benefiting to all of us. President Nana Akufo-Addo also thanked Senegal President, Macky Sall of Senegal for withdrawing his candidature in courtesy of Ghana.
