Nigeria, being the first to qualify for the knockouts, faces their first loss by the hands of the team playing their first ever AFCON in what was a shocker.
Yesterday turned out to be a nightmare for the Super Eagles when they stumbled and faced their first biggest upset in the tournament just before the knockouts. Madagascar took the lead in the 13th minute of the game; when Lalaïna Nomenjanahary stole the ball and drove it inside the net.
The Nigerian team couldn’t keep up the pace from then on; as it seemed like they were stumbling on their feet. Hence, a motivated Madagascar once again scored and this time from a deflected free-kick by none other than Carolus Andriamatsinoro.
With a demotivated team, will the Eagles find their way back into the tournament or will the first team to qualify to knockouts be the first team of Group B to be knocked out?
