At MWC Shanghai, Vivo unveiled its first ever AR glasses that are in the making and getting ready to come out. These are simply named as Vivo AR Glass and they are not heavy and quite lightweight headset featuring 6DoF tracking and a couple of transparent displays. The AR Glass is able to connect to the yet unnamed 5G smartphone of Vivo by means of a cable.
Right now, there are five use cases of Vivo AR Glass; object recognition, gaming, facial recognition, office work and “5G theatre”. The video posted officially by the company is having users in them sitting at the dinner table and playing games, they are then told the name of an acquaintance, and later it is seen that they are there sitting on their sofa and all around them are virtual jellyfish.
At this time, Vivo has not told any release date or pricing info for its AR Glass, but the Q3 of this year is the scheduled time for the release of the 5G phone. Vivo is planning to present the latest range of products such as AR glasses, smart watches, and headphones to be offered with its 5G smartphones.
