Super Eagles are receiving huge support from the Nigerian students. AFCON 2019 is going to commence after one day. Gernot Rohr and his team are going to play against Burundi and they are preparing themselves for this.
In the tourney, for the other group games, they will play against Madagascar and Guinea. Nigeria’s Super Eagles are coming back in the competition for the first time after their victory in 2013 in South Africa under the leadership of Stephen Keshi.
Now they are going to start the AFCON campaign on 22 June, Saturday against Burundi at Alexandria stadium. The preparations for the final completion are continued by the three-time champions. For the preparation, they have joined the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport pitch in Alexandria, Egypt.
Groups of Nigerian students came to buck up the team and also promised to come again to wish them good luck when the final will start. Nigeria has already won the title three times and they are again eager to win it. They are included in the group with Guinea, Burundi, and Madagascar. In the last practice game with Idrissa Gueye, Gernot Rohr and his team faced a 1-0 defeat to Senegal.
It was revealed in April by CAF that prize money $14.2 million would be distributed as prize money among the best eight teams at AFCON 2019. At Cairo international stadium the continent’s football showpiece will feature 24 teams for July 19.
