More than 100 people reportedly died when armed Fulani herders attacked on a village of central Mali after twilight.
Dogon ethnic group lived near Sobane-Kou close to Sanga town. Many attacks have been reported in the area in recent months by jihadist and ethnic groups. Dogon hunters and semi-nomadic Fulani herders keep fighting each other before and now Fulanis attacked the village after nightfall. Their clashes started after the insurrection of a militant Islamist in the area in 2012.
Koundou area official reported that they have recovered the dead bodies of 95 civilians. The search team is looking for more dead bodies and 19 missing people. Earlier in March, armed men, dressed in Dogon clothing, shot 130 Fulani people in Ogossagou and Welingara villages.
Government has tried hard many times to settle the disputes among two groups through negotiation. However, the government has lost control of the area after 2015 uprising. Both groups blamed each other for the attack.
