For the upcoming AFCON 2019 in Egypt, CAF has selected referees having no Ghanian referee on the list.
For the 32nd edition of the biennial tourney, 26 center referees and 30 assistant referees have been selected by CAF to handle the matches.
The top Ghanian referee, Daniel Laryea, was the part of the initial list of referees but failed to make the cut for the event.
Joseph Lamptey and Malick Alidu Salifu are the persons whose names were included for the last time as Ghanian referees in AFCON 2015 in Guinea.
The referees for AFCON 2019 have been selected from Egypt, Tunisia, Zambia, Seychelles, Madagascar, Tunisia, Cameroon, Burundi, Kenya, Ethiopia, Senegal, Algeria, Angola, Botswana, Morocco, South Africa, DR Congo, Rwanda, Chad, Comoros, Lesotho, Libya, Nigar, Sudan, Republic of Congo and Uganda.
The teams for AFCON 2019 have been increased from 16 to 32 for the month-long tourney. From 21 June the biggest AFCON 2019 is going to start in the five cities of Egypt namely, Ismailia, Cairo, Alexandria, Suez and Port-Said which will end on 19 July.
