Spanish police has made a number of arrests in connection to allege match-fixing. Police is investigating into possible match-fixing in local football games. Players and officials from top two divisions have been arrested.
Official and police received multiple complaints of a possible match-fixing in one of the La Liga games. The match was played in May 2018. The league has reported seven to eight cases shrouded with mysteries of match-fixing.
It is the lower divisions of Spanish football which are highlighted for alleged atrocities. Low profile friendlies played between Spanish and foreign clubs are also marked as suspicious. La Liga reported to the police commissioner and related authorities on possible atrocities and match-fixing during 2018/19 playing season.
La Liga officially reports as:
“We have sent alerts to general directorates of gaming on 18 football matches for possible identification and sanction of players for lower divisions who could possibly have bet during the playoffs”.
La Liga further adds by thanking the police for all the help and support. Police responded to their call and is helping long and hard to foil the bid. It is an organized criminal activity aimed at gaining economic benefits.
A further investigation will help retrieve more information.
