Previous president John Dramani Mahama has said that he questions the lack of bias of the Electoral Commission (EC).
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer said the EC is yet to demonstrate that it is a straightforward body.
hello need to refute us. We have our questions that they can be nonpartisan and reasonable… the present stance and the manner in which they are directing things makes us question that they will be impartial and reasonable in 2020,” he said.
In 2018, President Akufo-Addo designated Jean Mensa to supplant Charlotte Osei as the Chairperson of the EC.
The NDC has been especially condemning of Jean Mensa’s arrangement, having as of late conflicted with the EC supervisor at an IPAC meeting. Mahama accepts the EC manager’s stance “doesn’t give certainty that she will be nonpartisan in this issue.”
“Open office is a danger. I mean individuals will censure you. The president is scrutinized regular not to discuss a constituent official. Thus you ought not become delicate to analysis and act as though you are at war with an ideological group. Thus I’ll exhort that she changes her stance,” he said.
