The latest report of the Economic Intelligence Unit (EIU) has preferred NPP candidate suitable for 2020 victory than NDC referring Ghana’s economy. It said that President Akufo-Addo victory is confirmed in 2020 elections while former President John Mahama will lose the battle again.

John Mahama of National Democratic Party (NDC) has lost the presidential elections of 2016 in a bid to elect for the second term. New Patriotic Party’s flag-bearer Nana Akufo-Addo won that electoral race. Now EIU has predicted another success for him against Mahama.
John Mahama has served as both Vice President and President of Ghana for separate terms. However, severe corruption and credibility crisis has weakened his value as a political candidate. Now Ghana’s economy has flourished under Akufo-Addo government which has made an incumbent candidate to retain the president post again.
The EIU report also suggested that Ghana’s people will see more economic development in the era of Nana Akufo-Addo. The bad economic situation triggered the victory of NPP in the 2016 election. Many people still consider Mahama faulty for the bad economic situation in his tenure. However, NDC can overcome the situation by making promises like job creation and industrialization, etc. The report also indicated that corruption still remains widespread in the country. The issue will deeply affect the voter’s confidence in the 2020 election.
