The National Democratic Party (NDC) has rescheduled the date for filing the nominees for regional polls in newly developed regions. According to a new schedule, regional elections will be held on 23rd-24th of April instead of 22nd -23rd April.

NDC General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia said the regional elections and Easter holidays coincide with each other. This coincides lead to the decision of setting the polls on a later date.
In a signed statement from Johnson Asiedu Nketia said that the decision will allow candidates to fully avail the banking and other filing related services on a working day.
The statement also requested members to understand that the decisions to assume the positions will implement on 25th May, 2019. It will be done after the elections successfully held and selected one’s duly sworn-in in all affected regions.
