Xiaomi is very famous as it updates even its five-year-old smartphones to its most recent MIUI, but now it appears that this situation is on the verge to change. The company freshly declared on its forums that they are going to stop the software support for seven of its Redmi phones, suggesting that there is not going to be any MIUI 11 or any Global Beta in the future.
Here is the complete list of these Redmi phones:
The Community Admin of Mi declared that the usual upgrade for rest of the devices is not going to be affected at the present moment. All these things were announced on the Indian board too, suggesting that all of the variants of the Redmi Note 4 are perhaps going to stop getting any kind of firmware updates.
The blog post further disclosed that while any ROMs are not going to hit the phones any longer, they still are going to get the usual security updates for this time around, but they are doubtful this trend is going to keep on for long. A bad thing is that this suggests that these phones (most of them in India) are going to continue to have ads in the user interface because Xiaomi is going to get rid of the feature with MIUI 11.
