The National Democratic Congress (NDC) just declared again that it is going to oppose the plans of the Electoral Commission to collect a fresh electoral list.
The EC stated the previous week, later than its Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting, that it is going to collect the latest electoral roll before the 2020 Parliamentary and Presidential elections.
The NDC immediately censored the decision, declaring that they did not talk about it at the IPAC meeting.
Speaking with a news source, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, the General Secretary of the NDC declared that while the problem of having a fresh voters’ register is a topic for all the people to talk about, but really no need is there to have a fresh one.
He said that it is a topic for all of them to talk about but what he thinks is that no such need is there to register some fresh voters.
He further kept on saying that why they are supposed to have the latest register . . . their practice used to be that they change the latest electoral list each ten years.
