Now you can create public events in Google Maps, the app update was recently rolled out.
The feature works through the present Contribute section of the app where you were able to rate businesses and add crowdsourced information previously.
You are able to schedule an event, put a name to it, location, time and date, and give a number of different images and tags that are used to tell what is happening.
By this time, Google did not present the feature officially apart from making a support page for it, but all the events are put into the social functionality announced by the search giant for Maps at the previous year’s Google I/O.
The app’s transformation from a service includes all the things that tells you the way users can get to a place and a one that informs them where may wish to go in the first place.
By this time, Google has continued to have its target at recommending locations that have just limited opening times, but event listings are supposed to help the users to find more time-specific activities.
The functionality seems to be shot purposefully across the bow at Facebook, which is still a very popular platform that is used for organizing events.
Our best hopes say that this thing is going to become better as the functionality is rolled out more widely on Google Maps.
