The existing users of Windows 7 are starting to get notified by Microsoft that the platform is ending support for their version of Windows.
After January 14th, 2020, Windows 7 is no more going to be supported by the software, and now notifications are starting to arrive about this cutoff date. In the same way as Microsoft used prompts to get people to upgrade to Windows 7, the company is notifying all its Windows 7 users.
The end of support date of Windows 7 suggests that the users are no more supposed to get security updates, and as an alternative, the company wishes the users to get upgraded to Windows 10 PCs. The notification is not having any reference to Windows 10, but still Microsoft links to a fresh Windows 7 site asking its users to upgrade their PCs.
Previously in this present month, it was disclosed by Microsoft that these notifications are supposed to be displayed on Windows 7, whereas, at this time the company declares that it is just going to be displayed a few times in this year 2019. In January, when the Windows 7 support will end, the notifications are supposed to stop, or in case on the notification you choose the option “do not remind again”. The earlier Windows 10 upgrade notifications by Microsoft annoyed many of the Windows users, and from that occasion, the company learned the lesson that many people don’t want to see them.
Still Windows 10 is trying to get nearer to achieve Microsoft’s target that 1 billion devices have it installed.
The cycle of Windows 7 upgrade is supposed to elevate Windows 10, and earlier this year it offered Windows 7 so as to get market share. At the present moment, more than 800 million devices are running Windows 10.
