Worldwide use of hot beverages such as tea and coffee cannot be denied. Some like to take very hot tea or coffee but some take it less hot. New study has revealed that people who take hotter tea are at the high risk of esophageal cancer.
The study was conducted in a northwestern province of Iran, Golestan. Where there more than 50,000 people were involved. Study revealed that people who consumed hotter two large cups of 700ml per day had 90 percent high risk of esophageal cancer. Those who consumed less hot were lower in risk.
Dr. Farhad Islami, of the American Cancer Society and the study’s lead author said, according to our report, there is a high risk of esophageal cancer for the people who take very hot tea. Although, previous studies showed that there was a risk of cancer in taking hot tea. This study is the first authentic study to be published in the International Journal of Cancer on Wednesday.
International Agency for Research on Cancer has declared the esophageal cancer as the 8 most common cancers, annually kills 400, 00 people. Main cause of the esophageal cancer is drinking alcohol smoking and hot beverages as well.
The American Cancer Society estimates that researchers detected 317 new cases of esophageal cancer.
