The aviation workers’ union called a strike at the four main airports in Kenya, as a result of that thousands of passengers are trapped.
Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport is the busiest in East Africa and the sixty flights stopped to take off from the airport. Planes left without passengers. Fire engines were withdrawn from the runway after that the strike started at the midnight. Baggage-handling, check-in and security staff also didn’t work during strike.
Airports in western Kenya such as Mombasa, Eldoret and Kisumu also affected by the strike.
