In Barcelona this week, Samsung’s Galaxy Fold and Huawei’s Mate X have been the kings of MWC without any doubt, as later than so many years of anxious hope and hype foldable phones appear to come out at last. The couple of phones utilize very unique designs though, and it is quite certain which one is preferred by Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei’s mobile business.
He disclosed that his company at one time was working on three different foldable phone projects at the same time, while one of these two appeared to be quite same as the Samsung’s Galaxy Fold but was in some way advanced as compared to that, in Yu’s words. Though, he killed its development personally, for the reason that it was not good.
Yu further said speaking about the Galaxy Fold that he feels to have a couple of screens, a back screen and a front screen, making the phone quite heavy to hold.
It is not depending upon which design you appreciate more, still at this time it is quite obvious that foldable handsets are a very niche thing, featuring the Huawei Mate X at a price tag of €2,299 and Galaxy Fold going at €2,000.
