Mark Okraku has rejected highlife artist Kwaisey Pee’s affirmation that there is no superstar in Ghana.
Kwaisey Pee, in a recent interview on Thursday, said that no Ghanaian is fit to be known as a superstar.
As indicated by him, contrasting the social and money related status of superstars living in the Western World to the ‘supposed’ Ghanaian famous people, he is yet to see one in Ghana.
However, responding to this in an interview, Mark Okraku Mantey, who is additionally the President of the Creative Arts Council, couldn’t help contradicting him.
Mark, clarifying what big name implies said it doesn’t include the financial status of an individual.
He was of the view that Pee said we don’t have big names. It is false as we do have. Bounce Marley and Joseph Hill don’t drive sumptuous vehicles or dress expensively. However, would you be able to state they weren’t famous people?
Mark questioned, ” Ethics is about how your society accepts something that is right or wrong. That’s why gayism is normal in Western culture but not in Africa. Celebrity is the state of being known and talked about. A person who is widely known period per dictionary definition. So where from if you don’t have this or that, you’re not a celebrity?”
Mr. Okraku Mantey said that it’s not about lavishness. On the off chance that Nana Addo goes anyplace the environment changes since he is a celeb. We have heaps of celebs in the nation from music to film, legislative issues, and religion.
“I pardon Kwaisey Pee since he lived in the Western Culture for such a long time,” he finished up.
