A previous Presidential staff member under the past Mahama organization and now Member of Parliament (MP) for the Builsa South body electorate in the Upper East Region has somewhat accused the media in Ghana for the overwhelming annihilation of John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress in the 2016 general races.
Dr. Apaak trusts the media in Ghana have in quite a while past pushed the motivation of the administering New Patriotic Party (NPP) either in or out of government.According to him, the media is completing an incredible damage to the nation with its inclination towards one gathering.
“They (NPP) have been more intense than us and it has dependably been the situation. We have constantly known this. It’s not tied in with being in government but rather it’s about whose case the media discover progressively alluring and pushes. When we were in power, every one of the claims that were made against us media men never requested that the NPP give proof. Today in the event that you express an obvious actuality as I have shown on a couple of issues, the media fellow would request that I give proof. It is evident the media added to our thrashing and I imagine that all things considered the media needs to complete a superior occupation by being reasonable and impartial” he said.
While refering to examples of claims of debasement under the present government, the official included that the appearing quietness and show of little enthusiasm by the media is in sharp diverge from the response and stance of same media under the administration of the National Democratic Congress.
He included “columnists have an intrigue, they have a motivation. They realize how to direct data and to introduce it in a way that would give an element a chance to look positive or negative. In the event that you return and do your examination, you would see there is an unmistakable distinction between the manner in which the media ventures what happens inside the setting of NPP and that of NDC”
