India is ready to launch a campaign to isolate Pakistan in cricketing arena. In the aftermaths of Pulwama suicide attack in Indian-held Kashmir, the relationship between the arch rivals has become rigid.
India blames Pakistan for Pulwama attack and wants to pull Pakistan out of the ICC Cricket World Cup to be held in July this year in England.
India has urged the cricket governing body, the International Cricket Council, asking to impose a ban of Pakistan from participating in the event.
India and Pakistan are scheduled to play a preliminary round match in the event. Initially India was of the verdict that they would not be playing with Pakistan.
But now the verdict has changed and India wants to build a consensus among the member states of trying to inflict a pain on Pakistan by prompting them to ban the country which allegedly harbors and exports terrorism.
The Indian cricketers have released statements on social media that they support their leadership’s decision pertaining to cricket ties with Pakistan.
India accused Pakistan of formulating, planning and executing the terror act which killed more than 40 paramilitary troops in Indian held Kashmir.
Kashmiri’s demand a right of self-determination and consider Indian occupation of the land as illegitimate and against the 1948 accord of UN Security Council, which gives Kashmiri’s the right to decide their fate through plebiscite.
Both India and Pakistan are controlling parts of Kashmir and it has been a bone of contention between the two nuclear powers.
The Pulwama suicide attack last week incited more hatred and raised the levels of stiffness between India and Pakistan.
Pakistani PM has extended support by offering all the support required to investigate into the matter but not without any evidence pertaining to its involvement.
India on the other hand hasn’t handed over any material or evidence to support their verdict as yet.
