Ghana’s Special Prosecutor, Martin Alamisi Burnes Kaiser Amidu has been banned from exercises of the resistance National Democratic Congress (NDC) if the announcement made by the gathering’s General Secretary, Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia is anything to pass by.
As per him Mr. Amidu can never again settle on choices in the gathering which implies he isn’t an individual from great remaining to cast a ballot in any of their inner decisions.
Per the NDC race rules, previous deputies are permitted to cast a ballot in any inside races that might be held however he expressed vehemently that Mr. Amidu who was at one time an Attorney General and Minister of Justice does not qualify at all to cast a ballot.
“Martin Amidu said from the day he was selected by the legislature that he had surrendered so he can’t participate. The way that he has been a unit and a previous Minister does not give him that possibility,” he clarified.
In February a year ago, Martin Amidu unveiled that his arrangement as Special Prosecutor does not constrain him to leave from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) however rushed to include that his arrangement consequently makes him fair-minded.
” If you read Section 3 of the Criminal Offenses Act, the meaning of an open officer incorporates a potential open officer, so when the President selected me and declared it to the entire world, I turned into a potential open officer, perceived under the Criminal code as an open officer, so to the extent I am worried, since that day , I am unbiased, and that is the reason you have not heard my voice over the air saying anything since I am going to an office which must be nonpartisan and fair-minded.
“One doesn’t have to leave. The Supreme Court has held that while you are an open officer you can’t partake in gathering legislative issues. I think it includes Dr. Adjei and co. I did that case in the Supreme Court, so I don’t have to make a formal abdication of anything.”
