Ten young athletes have been killed while three injured after the fire broke out in the dormitory of the Flamengo youth team training centre in Brazil.

The training centre Flamengo is one of Brazil’s biggest football clubs of international level.
The fire engulfed the training ground of Flamengo football club, in Rio de Janeiro at about 05:10 (07:10 GMT). The law enforcing agencies are trying to find the reason behind the fire which is still unclear.
The club currently ranked at second place in Brazil’s Série A table. It has also earned the league title five times.
Famous former player and football legend, Ronaldinho expressed his condolences over the huge loss.
Rescue services
A media source reported that the fire started at about 05:10 (07:10 GMT) due to unknown reason and rescue teams doused it around 07:30.
The authorities are trying to identify the victims while firefighters have shifted the injured to nearby hospitals. Severe storms and heavy downpour in the area also remain in headlines these days. The bad weather resulted in a lack of water and power resources in the facility when the fire started.
Many prominent former players like World Cup winners Ronaldinho, Bebeto and Romario belong to this club.
Rather than football, Flamengo also trained the teams in basketball, rowing, swimming, and volleyball games.
